Walkers' specialist dispute resolution lawyers from Jersey and Guernsey will be leading a six-part webinar series on themes in offshore disputes expected in 2021 following on from the trends that emerged last year due to the disruption caused by Covid-19.

The practical sessions run from January to April, covering disputes in the private wealth, corporate and investment funds spaces, and will be supported by Walkers specialists from the Investment Funds & Corporate and Private Capital & Trusts practice groups.

Partner Nigel Sanders, who leads the Walkers' Channel Islands Insolvency and Dispute Resolution team, said: "We have seen some clear trends and themes emerge over the past year in terms of the contentious offshore work we are engaged on, in the sectors in which our clients do business.  The direct and indirect impact of Covid-19 on businesses and asset classes has certainly caused clients not only to consider options for immediate action but to address how best to manage and reduce the risk of contentious situations arising, or be prepared for when they do.

"These sessions have been put together in response to those trends and to address the kinds of issues that we feel are most likely to continue to be of great interest in what are inevitably going to be difficult times in the coming months and possibly years. We are confident that the insights and practical guidance we will share throughout the series will be of interest and of real value to a wide range of audiences."

The sessions cover:

21 Jan - Stick or Twist – Restructuring trust structures

3 Feb - Bless you! – Trustee decision making in volatile times

3 Mar - Mistake – Judicial alchemy in action
