We are pleased to announce the promotion of Baltimore Associate Lindsey Smith, Philadelphia Associate Kevin Yoegel, and Seattle Associate Ethan Smith to partner. Lindsey Smith

Lindsey Smith, CIPP/US, focuses his practice on assisting clients with data incident response, deploying forensics, and consumer and regulatory notification. Coordinating with forensics investigators and law enforcement to identify the source of data incidents, he provides legal analyses of these events to help clients determine their breach notification obligations. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Lindsey practiced in the area of civil defense litigation for more than five years, during which he managed complex business disputes and professional liability matters in Massachusetts. He holds the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Kevin Yoegel

Kevin Yoegel, CIPT, regularly assists clients with proactive data privacy and security as well as incident response management and remediation. His practice includes compliance counseling, incident response planning, third-party contract review, and the development of privacy and information security policies. Additionally, Kevin facilitates responses to information security incidents, including investigatory forensics, consumer and regulatory notification obligations, and crisis communication. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Kevin practiced as a commercial litigator, handling technically complex cases in state and federal courts across the country. He also earned a Master's degree in Cybersecurity Engineering, and he holds the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Ethan Smith

Ethan Smith's practice focuses on responding to data security incidents. He works to provide a rapid strategic response to these events, coordinating with forensic specialists, developing creative solutions to minimize exposure, and counseling clients on their legal obligations. Ethan leverages his background in complex commercial litigation, regulatory compliance, and risk management to help clients minimize potential liability while ensuring compliance with consumer and government notification requirements. Before shifting his focus to data privacy, Ethan was a litigator, focusing on complex commercial disputes, including class action, employment, and appellate matters. He also successfully defended major corporate clients in high-profile data breach litigation.
