The Business Insurance World Captive Forum will be held virtually this year from 24-25 February 2021.

Appleby Bermuda will have two representatives participating in the upcoming forum. Eduardo Fox, Latin America Consultant, will be speaking on Latin American Captives. Counsel Matthew Carr will also be attending the virtual conference. The forum is one of the longest running international captive insurance conferences in the world providing in-depth, high-caliber educational content to 400+ risk manager, benefit managers and financial executive whose organisations have risks insured by a captive or who are exploring the formation of one.

Latin American Captives offer sustainable risk financing strategies in response to insurance market cycles. Eduardo's panel entitled 'Latin American Captives' will explore the many strategic opportunities that captives present.

Eduardo is a Latin America Consultant in Appleby's Bermuda Corporate and Private Client & Trusts departments and a member of the firm's global Latin America team. He is an economist and CPA. Eduardo also serves as Official Advisor for Latin American Affairs to both the Government of Bermuda and the Bermuda Insurance Management Association.

Matthew is a member of Appleby's corporate practice group in Bermuda. Matthew advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters with a focus on insurance and reinsurance regulatory and transactional work, including licensing of re/insurance companies, alternative risk financing vehicles (such as cat bonds and insurance-linked securities), segregated account structures, M&A and general corporate governance matters. Matthew sits on the BDA's (Bermuda Business Development Agency) Captive Committee.
