Carey Olsen has been named a finalist for Offshore Law Firm of the Year at the 2021 Asia Legal Awards.

Hosted by The Asian Lawyer, in association with The American Lawyer, China Law & Practice and Legal Week, the awards look to honour the most complex and outstanding legal work in the region across different practice areas and disciplines.

Carey Olsen's shortlisting follows the firm winning two China Business Law Journal deal of the year awards for its involvement in Full Truck Alliance's US$1.7 billion share issue and its role in defending the majority founding shareholders of WeRide Inc. against a winding-up petition. In addition, the firm's Asia offices both recently secured strong endorsements in the 2021 edition of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, with the Singapore practice securing a Tier One ranking in the guide's offshore section.

Carey Olsen has had a presence in Asia since launching its Singapore office in 2015, which was then followed by the opening of a Hong Kong office in 2016.

Winners of the Asia Legal Awards will be announced during a virtual event on Wednesday 5 May.
