PITTSBURGH  – April 7, 2021 –  Since 2004, companies and individuals have joined together each April for Celebrate Diversity Month. This month serves as a time to celebrate all dimensions of diversity in our lives, workplaces and communities to recognize how all our cultures, backgrounds and rich traditions bring value to our daily lives.

Buchanan remains committed to promoting diversity and inclusion every day. To honor this month, the firm is encouraging employees to engage in a number of programs:

  1. We recently hosted a firm-wide implicit bias workshop designed to help us all understand what we can do to make our workplace more equitable and inclusive. To help drive home this message even further, on April 14th, our CDIO, Lloyd Freeman will be sitting down with our CEO, Joe Dougherty and Greg Jordan, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at PNC, to discuss how to "Promote, Advance, Grow: The Role of White Male Allies in Corporate America." This event is open to the public. Please register to gain insight on this important topic from two dedicated industry leaders.
  2. The firm is introducing the launch of a new podcast titled, "Dimensions of Diversity." This podcast series will feature meaningful conversations with industry executives, D&I experts, attorneys and thought leaders to explore the concept of diversity and inclusion in corporate America and our communities. Click here to subscribe to the podcast on any platform (Apple, Spotify, etc.).
  3. Last month, we signed a pledge standing in solidarity with the Asian American community in a show of unity and condemning anti-Asian hate, xenophobia, violence and racism. On April 29th at 12pm EST, we will be hosting a CLE webinar to bring awareness and encourage allyship to #StopTheHate against Asian Americans. This program will feature A.B. Cruz III, President of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Please save the date. Registration will be open soon.
