Nine Ogier partners from the Channel Islands have been recognised for their continued excellence in the elite Legal 500 Hall of Fame.

Raulin Amy, Sally Edwards, Emily Haithwaite, Edward Mackareth, Steve Meiklejohn and Helen Ruelle from Ogier in Jersey, plus Martyn Baudains, Simon Davies and Gavin Ferguson from Guernsey, have been named as lawyers at the "pinnacle of the profession."

The Hall of Fame, which launched in 2018, highlights individuals who have received constant praise from their clients. It recognises legal professionals from across the United Kingdom, United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Described by as a "star adviser" by Legal 500 UK, 2021, Raulin Amy is a partner in the Corporate team and the practice partner of Ogier's Jersey office, He is involved in a wide range of local and international corporate M&A, capital markets transactions including several high profile IPOs, joint ventures, and restructuring transactions.

Martyn Baudains has been involved in Guernsey property since being called to the Guernsey Bar in 2000. He advises on all aspects of residential and commercial property including conveyancing, property finance, developments and landlord and tenant. "Martyn's global experience creates dimension to his advice which is both invaluable, as well as a learning experience for our stakeholders," according to Legal 500 UK, 2021.

Simon Davies "brings a wealth of experience in dispute resolution both domestically and internationally," according to client feedback in Legal 500 UK, 2021. Simon specialises in contentious trusts, commercial litigation, insolvency, administration, receivership, fraud and asset trading, shareholder disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, professional negligence, mediation and all types of insurance and reinsurance related disputes.

Sally Edwards is head of Private Wealth in Jersey and has been described by clients as "the Jersey trust guru when it gets tricky" and "an outstanding talent in her field." Sally advises a wide range of professional trustees, settlors and beneficiaries on all issues concerning trusts, with particular emphasis on drafting trust deeds. She also advises on drafting the documentation to restructure trusts, advising on high net worth complex structures and rectifying and mitigating breaches of trust.

Gavin Ferguson heads Ogier's Private Wealth team in Guernsey and provides contentious and non-contentious fiduciary services to high net worth individuals, corporate clients and charities. He is qualified in Guernsey, BVI and England and Wales. Client feedback in Legal 500 describes him as "astute, affable, technically knowledgeable and efficient".

Emily Hathwaite is an investment funds partner in Ogier's Jersey office and, as described in Legal 500 UK, "a stand out leader – she is available whenever needed; provides calm and pragmatic advice and is always pleasant to work with." Emily primarily advises in relation to private equity funds and is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team.

Described in this year's Legal 500 UK as a "very astute litigator," Edward Mackereth is Ogier's global managing partner and a partner in Ogier's Dispute Resolution and Trust Advisory groups. His practice encompasses fraud and asset tracing, restructuring and insolvency, trusts, financial services, regulation and disputes, banking and anti-money laundering law and regulation, contractual, shareholder and boardroom disputes.

Steve Meiklejohn has been a partner at the firm since 1988. He is qualified under the laws of Jersey, the British Virgin Islands and England and Wales, and is also a Notary Public. Steve is a member of the Private Wealth team and adviser to Trustees and Private Clients in respect of Trust and Fiduciary structures. Clients described him to Legal 500 UK as a "doyen of the Jersey trusts world."

Helen Ruelle is Ogier's director of Local Legal Services, a Jersey Advocate, and one of Jersey's most prominent employment lawyers. According to client feedback, Helen is "a powerhouse on employment law who is respected within the local business community" and she is described as a "leading individual" by Legal 500 for employment law advice.
