The upper house of the Dutch parliament (Eerste Kamer) has adopted the legislative proposal to amend the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens). The new rules entered into force on 9 February 2012. One of the improvements is that a permit from the Dutch Minister of Security and Justice is no longer required if unamended EU Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission are used.
