SPEAKERS
DPS Parmar

Mr. Parmar heads the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) practice group at LexOrbis. After joining the IPAB as Technical Member (Patents) in 2011, he has been instrumental in writing some path breaking and insightful decisions on Indian patent law issues. These include establishing legal positions on excluded subject matter under Section 3(d), 3(i) and 3(k), divisional applications, disclosure requirements under Section 8, working statements and compulsory license, to name a few. Before joining IPAB, Mr. Parmar worked with the Indian Patent Office (IPO) for over 27 years. He represented India at discussions organized by the WIPO and attended follow-on programs at the European and Japanese Patent Offices. He was instrumental in the recognition of IPO as the 15th ISA and IPEA under the PCT. He also served as the Head of the Intellectual Property Training Institute in Nagpur.

Joginder Singh

Joginder is a registered Indian patent agent and heads the Engineering Patent Practice at LexOrbis. He holds a graduate degree in computer science and diplomas in electronics & telecommunication, Computer applications, Microsoft Dot Net technology. He has over 12+ years of rich experience in patent services. He has rich experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious patent matters. Joginder regularly attends several national and international IP conferences throughout the year. He is an elected member of the APAA India committee and an active member of organizations, such as LES YMC, AIPLA, IPO, and AIPPI.

Abhai Pandey

Abhai is a Partner at LexOrbis and focuses on intellectual property litigations, criminal enforcement and contested proceedings at the Trademark and Patent Offices. His practice includes trademark and patent oppositions, cancellation actions, IP litigations at trial and appeal courts, criminal and border enforcement of IP rights and IP licensing and transactions. He also advises clients on brand protection strategies for social media, Internet and advertisements and has been successfully running several anti-counterfeiting campaigns in India for a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individual entrepreneurs. He represents a broad range of businesses and industries, including fashion, media & entertainment, publishing, fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, electronics, automobile, ICT, etc.
