Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab
Emirates, has joined the consortium of the Digital Aviation
Research and Technology Centre, DARTeC, ?65 million, due to open
next year at Cranfield University in the UK.
Specific topics on which Etihad and DARTeC will collaborate
include: reducing aircraft emissions both in the air and on the
ground; creating safe and efficient airspace; better understanding
the impacts of lifetime sustainability of aircraft; improving the
passenger experience; increasing aircraft reliability and
availability.
