Dear Friends of Labuan,
Happy Lunar New Year! The Ox, the animal sign for this lunar year is known to be tough and sturdy, both traits we will all need to meet the challenges from this pandemic. So, here's hoping we all enjoyed the festivities, even if it was via a Zoom call, as we truly have much to be thankful for.
I hope you will make some time to read our article for the month, as it dissects a recent landmark ruling by the Federal Court of Malaysia reaffirming that Labuan FSA's Guidance carries the force of law for all matters relating to our financial centre.
Please also do join us on a panel we led at the 30th Edition of the World Captive Forum 2021, which for the first time will feature developments in the Asian captive landscape. This is the beauty of virtual events, as it now allows us a wider geographical reach, in this instance allowing Labuan IBFC exposure in the North America.
