The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's five star financial credentials have been further strengthened by major rating agency Standard & Poor's, which has confirmed the country's "AAA" grade and stable outlook.

Along with the highest S&P rating, Luxembourg continues to enjoy top assessments from leading agencies Moody's and Fitch - and is steadily holding its position as a key financial centre in the Eurozone.

The AAA assessment comes after the latest Z/Yen Global Financial Cities Index once again placed Luxembourg among the top five in Europe -  behind leading global centre London, Zurich and Geneva, and ahead of Frankfurt.

The GFC Index ranking is determined after assessments of Luxembourg's business environment, financial sector development, infrastructure, human capital and additional factors such as reputation and quality of life.

Specifically classified as a "global specialist," Luxembourg is also among the ten global centres earmarked to become more significant in the coming years.
