The Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act
2020 (the "Act") was signed in to law on 6 August 2020
with most provisions commenced on 21 August 2020. The Act
introduces a number of reforms and provides for remote hearings and
electronic filings. For further information on these reforms,

The Act also introduces a new statutory exception to the rule
against hearsay and with it brings significant change to a key
principle of the law of evidence.
