The Channel Islands continued to lead on offshore IPOs in London during the first half of 2015. The two islands were neck-and-neck on total new listings, and Main Market listings, with Jersey favoured for AIM and Guernsey for SFM.

The BVI had the largest combined market capitalisation - however, this was down to one substantial listing (Nomad Foods Ltd) which, on its own, represented 99.5% of the BVI's total market capitalisation. Nomad Foods Ltd, a special purpose acquisition company (or 'SPAC' - see here our recent article on the use of SPACs), originally listed in April 2014 and was re-admitted in June 2015 following its successful acquisition of the Iglo Group. Notably, SPACs from both Cayman and Guernsey were listed on the Main Market in H1 2015 and are yet to complete their respective acquisition and re-admission.
