The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) has blocked 231 websites as they have found that those are violating the intellectual property laws in Saudi Arabia.

SAIP has established an organization to monitor and detect possible violations. Those blocked websites are dealing with activities which are in violation of intellectual property laws such as selling subscriptions for encrypted TV channels through software.

It was also affirmed by the SAIP that those websites which violate the law will be fined up to SR250,000 ($66,000).
