April 2021  – The Turkish energy regulatory authority, EMRA, in a decision dated 8 April 2021 and published in the Official Gazette on 10 April 2021 ("Update Decision"), has updated the price difference table for fuel-ceiling prices applicable for each province of Turkey, effective from 10 April 2021.

In its decision No. 10081 and dated 17 March 2021 (effective from 18 March 2021) ("Initial Decision"), EMRA sets forth a formula to calculate the fuel-ceiling price applicable on the European side of Istanbul. For the calculation of fuel-ceiling prices applicable in other provinces and on the Asian side of Istanbul, the Initial Decision stipulates that the price difference determined in the table attached thereto will be added to price that will be calculated for the European side of Istanbul as per the given formula. This price table has now been updated with the table attached to the Update Decision, and as of 10 April 2021, the price differences stated in the updated table will be taken into account when calculating the fuel-ceiling prices.

The updated table attached to the Update Decision is in line with the fuel-ceiling prices that were announced by EMRA on 8 April 2021 as applicable as of 9 April 2021 (for more information on fuel-ceiling prices, see our review available here).
