In the Birmingham Employment Tribunal, Ms Taylor, who identifies as gender-fluid, successfully argued that she had suffered harassment and discrimination because of gender reassignment. The remedies hearing has now taken place and Ms Taylor has been awarded £180,000 in compensation.

The tribunal's full written reasons in respect of its decision and a breakdown of the compensation amount are yet to be published. However, the outcome of the case and the value of the compensation awarded indicates the importance the tribunal has put on protection being given to non-binary and gender fluid workers.
