CARY, N.C.—No business leader wants his or her property searched by law enforcement. But all companies should have a plan in place before the police come knocking with a search warrant.

Womble Bond Dickinson lawyer Ripley Rand will take part in a session titled "Forewarned Is Forearmed: How to be Prepared for When the Government Shows Up" at the North Carolina Bar Association Corporate Counsel Section's Annual Meeting. Rand will be joined in the discussion by Edward Fishman of Nossaman LLP and Keir Strauss of Syneos Health.

This session explores how companies can best prepare to address issues involving law enforcement searches or other governmental interventions in business settings.

The NCBA Corporate Counsel Section Annual Meeting takes place Jan. 26 at the NC Bar Center in Cary.

Ripley Rand is a former U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina. At Womble Bond Dickinson, he counsels clients in white-collar criminal defense, health care fraud defense, internal investigations and regulatory enforcement matters.
