Chapman Tripp has advised ASX-listed digital outdoor media company QMS Media on all legal aspects of its proposed merger with free-to-air broadcaster Mediaworks.

Chapman Tripp supported QMS Media to finalise the terms to merge its New Zealand operations, QMS Sport NZ, QMS NZ Holdings and QMS NZ (and their respective subsidiaries). The deal was signed on 10 December 2018.
The merger is subject to conditions, including obtaining consent of the Overseas Investment Office.

The Chapman Tripp deal team was led by Partner Fiona Bennett with support from partners Hamish Foote and Bevan Miles, Senior Associates Colin Fife and Stephanie Muller, Senior Solicitors Thomas Joseph and Victoria Joseph, and Solicitors Sam Steven, Dan Chan, Michelle Chan, and Charlotte Hooper.

"We are pleased to have played a key role in advising QMS on the merger as it will help our client further boost its market share and audience reach across radio, TV and digital broadcasting," said Bennett.

The sale price will be subject to a post-completion adjustment of the transaction.
