LAS VEGAS (October 1, 2020) – Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie announced Karl Rutledge, chair of the firm's Commercial Gaming Industry Group, has been appointed to the Gaming Law Advisory Board for the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. Gaming Law Advisory Board members are distinguished leaders from across the gaming industry who provide counsel and invaluable expertise on gaming programs at the law school.

Rutledge counsels on the nuances of gaming, focusing on eSports, fantasy sports, sports betting and promotional marketing. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Gaming Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada and is also the immediate past Chair of the Gaming Law Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.

Rutledge also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, where he teaches a class titled "Gaming Industry Regulation." He is continually recognized by Chambers USA for gaming and licensing in the nationwide category and was named to Vegas Inc.'s "40 Under 40" for 2019 and one of the Emerging Leaders of Gaming 40 Under 40 2019 - 2020 Class by Global Gaming Magazine. The Best Lawyers in America® has listed Rutledge in the gaming law category since 2012 and he was also most recently recognized as "Lawyer of the Year" for 2021.

Rutledge received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law and his B.A. from Montana State University.
