Managing Intellectual Property, one of the world's leading trade publications for intellectual property lawyers, has announced the 2023 winners of the prestigious ManagingIP Awards.
Cassels is proud to have been honoured as the winner in three categories...
- The Cassels Intellectual Property Group was honoured as Canada's Copyright Firm of the Year;
- Casey Chisick, Chair of the Intellectual Property and Co-Chair of the Entertainment & Sports practices at Cassels, was recognized as Canada's Copyright Practitioner of the Year for the third time in the past four years; and
- Cassels played an integral role in the Impact Case of the Year, SOCAN v Entertainment Software Association, where Casey Chisick and Eric Mayzel served as counsel to the appellant, SOCAN and Jessica Zagar served as counsel to the interveners, Music Publishers Canada and APEM.
The ManagingIP Awards are presented annually to firms, individuals, and companies behind the most innovative and challenging IP work of the past year, as well as to those driving the international IP market. The awards were presented at a gala event in New York City on April 27, 2023.
