We are thrilled to announce that Ryan Algar, Thomas Ostrowerka and Alison Scott have joined the BD&P Partnership effective February 1, 2024. This well-deserved appointment strengthens BD&P's real estate, restructuring and litigation practice areas. Ryan, Thomas and Alison are emerging experts in their respective fields and will further solidify our commitment to providing bold and strategic legal solutions.
Ryan joined BD&P with a focus in restructuring and litigation and commercial litigation practice areas. He has been instrumental in various commercial insolvency proceedings and reorganizations including providing legal advice to the Monitor, Receiver and Trustee of an oil and gas Limited Partnership whose limited partners represented over 10,000 German investors.

Thomas became a member of the BD&P team in 2012, contributing his expertise to the commercial real estate group. Since then, he has made a significant impact in the commercial real estate, infrastructure and project development practice areas. Notably, Thomas served as counsel to a developer in connection with the acquisition and ongoing project finance of five solar projects in Alberta. Beyond his professional achievements, he is actively involved in the community, serving as Director at PaceKids Society for Children with Special Needs.

Alison joined the firm in 2014, specializing in commercial and general litigation. She has vast experience in energy and construction litigation, commercial and general litigation and court and arbitration experience including appearing at all levels of Court in Alberta and British Columbia and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Alison is deeply committed to community involvement, dedicating her time as an AMICUS volunteer at the Calgary Courts Centre, Civil Claims Duty Counsel volunteer at the Calgary Courts Centre and Legal Clinic volunteer at the Calgary Women's Centre.
