Gowling WLG's Emma Cartledge-Taylor, planning senior associate, is named among The Planner magazine's Women of Influence 2024 – a list that celebrates the impact of women on planning and planners.

The annual, non-ranked list is compiled based on nominations by readers of The Planner and assessed by a judging panel of distinguished planners from across the UK. This year's list includes 54 women from across the UK's nations and regions, from Ireland and from overseas, whose nominations met the set criteria. Collectively, they represent the depth and breadth of women who are influencing national planning policy and planners across sectors and disciplines.

Emma's appearance in this year's 'Women of Influence' list recognises both her experience and expertise on major projects – particularly, large-scale highways matters – and her work with the Women in Planning West Midlands network. She is a committee member and past chair of the group, which focuses on increasing diversity, inclusion and equality across the planning industry, and has been integral in setting up the national Women in Planning Mentoring Scheme.

Emma is a senior associate in Gowling WLG's Planning team, with a broad depth of experience in planning and environmental law, and on the contentious and non-contentious side. She is involved in planning and highways matters for both public and private sector clients on projects such as large-scale regeneration, residential, office, commercial, retail and logistic developments.

Our Planning team advises on some of the UK's highest profile commercial, residential and infrastructure projects and is top-ranked in Chambers UK 2024 in the West Midlands. This year, the team also gained recognition for its achievements in The Times Best Law Firms 2024 rankings and won two accolades at the Planning Awards 2023.
