The capital markets team from Gowling WLG has advised financial and legal intelligence provider, Reorg, on its acquisition of FinDox Inc., a leading document, compliance and data management provider. The parties signed on 9 November with the transaction expected to complete in December 2022.

FinDox was founded in 2016 by Tejs Broberg, whose goal was to revolutionise investment management data. At its core, FinDox has built the industry-leading document aggregation and compliance platform which serves as the central repository for more than three million confidential investment documents from approximately 25,000 deals, all accessed through a controlled compliance meta layer. FinDox also provides ESMA Article 7 reporting, financial data analytics and ESG reporting to more than 100 customers around the globe.

With offices on three continents, Reorg serves more than 20,000 professionals across the world's leading hedge funds, asset managers, investment banks, law firms, professional services, advisors and corporations.

The team was led by corporate partner Davey Brennan and principal associate Alex Davidson, supported by corporate associate Helena David. They were supported by a wider deal team including partner Joss Paulley (CITO), principal associate Alexandra Gill (CITO), senior associate Zoe Pearman (IP) and associate Daniel Phillips (Employment).

Davey said: "We are delighted to have supported our longstanding client Reorg on this deal, working alongside lead US counsel Weil Gotshal. The acquisition, which is part of Reorg's global growth strategy, further strengthens the company's already strong position in the leveraged finance market. We wish Reorg all the very best with this new venture."
