Ogier's Cecilia Li, a corporate partner in the firm's Hong Kong office, has been named in China Business Law Journal's 2023-24 Rising Stars A-List.

The Rising Stars list is comprised of 120 elite lawyers under the age of 40 compiled from thousands of nominations by business leaders, senior in-house counsel and the wider legal community.

Cecilia advises on a broad range of corporate finance and transactional matters. She has a particular expertise in using BVI and Cayman Islands companies in equity and debt capital market transactions (including initial public offerings on stock exchange in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States of America), mergers and acquisitions, take-private transactions, private equity investments, corporate reorganisations and banking and syndicated loan transactions.

Cecilia's superior language proficiency (a native Mandarin speaker, also fluent in English and Cantonese), coupled with her legal expertise and experience, has allowed her to provide valuable and timely advice to clients. Her clients include international and Chinese corporate entities, such as major Chinese state-owned enterprises, listed and private companies, major investment banks, financial institutions and private equity houses.

"It is a great honour to have been nominated by industry peers and I am delighted to have been included in the list. Ogier's presence in Hong Kong continues to grow and I am proud to be part of an award-winning team that puts our clients are the forefront of what we do," said Cecilia.

Ogier in Hong Kong was named Best Offshore Law Firm at both the HFM Asian Services Awards and ALB Hong Kong Law Awards in 2023, as well as being named one of Asia's Top 15 ESG Law Firms by ALB.
