Heath P. Tarbert resigned his position as Chair and Chief Executive of the CFTC (see Mr. Tarbert's letter  to President Joseph R. Biden). He will remain one of the agency's five commissioners. Commissioner Rostin Behnam was elected to serve as Acting Chair, effectively immediately.

Mr. Tarbert is credited with, among other achievements, setting numerous records for enforcement during his tenure and advancing 41 final rules and 21 proposals (90 percent of which were on a bipartisan basis).
